What is a Digital Certificate?

A digital certificate is an identification credential issued to natural persons, legal entities or services. Together with the private key associated with the certificate, it allows electronic signatures to be made and authentication in applications via the internet.

Can Uanataca digital certificates be issued from a mobile device?

Yes, both a Registration Authority can register its users from any mobile device connected to the internet and end users can generate their digital certificates.

What is a Qualified Electronic Signature Certificate?

A qualified electronic signature certificate is a digital certificate containing cryptographic keys which are the necessary elements to sign electronically. These certificates aim to unequivocally identify their holder and are issued by Trust Service Providers accredited and supervised by competent bodies. In Spain, this is the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation. The eIDAS accreditation in the European Union countries for issuing qualified certificates is based on compliance with the ETSI EN 319 401, ETSI EN 319 411-1 and ETSI EN 319 411-2 standards.

Are Uanataca digital certificates valid for operating with public administrations?

Yes, all Uanataca qualified digital certificates are accredited in all public administrations. With them, you can carry out all operations at the respective electronic offices.

Can I use Uanataca digital certificates for the Tax Agency’s electronic office?

Yes, Uanataca digital certificates are 100% compatible with the Tax Agency, Social Security and all General State Administrations, Autonomous Communities, Provincial Councils and Town Halls.

I want to issue digital certificates to my clients or employees. How can I do this?

It is very simple. If you have many employees or clients who need digital certificates to operate with public administrations or to sign electronically with all legal guarantees, you can become a Uanataca Registration Authority in less than 24 hours. For this, we will provide you with a tool and training so you can do it quickly. If you need issuance to be done from your own application, we can also give you free access to our API.

Why is personal identification necessary to obtain a digital certificate?

The purpose of identification is to guarantee conformity between the information present in the DNI/NIE/Passport, the person’s identity and the information that will be incorporated into the digital certificate.

Where are the keys and digital certificates generated and stored?

Uanataca digital certificates can be issued in multiple cryptographic containers:

  • Centralised Certificates in Uanataca’s SignCloud (advanced electronic signature and qualified electronic signature).
  • Certificates on Cryptographic Card (qualified electronic signature).
  • Certificates on USB Cryptographic Token (qualified electronic signature)
  • Certificates in Software or p12 File (advanced electronic signature)

I know that Uanataca does not generate paper when issuing certificates

How do they do it?

In the application for issuing digital certificates, we have implemented the Zero Paper functionality. You will be able to issue certificates to your clients without generating paper and without having to keep it for the 15 years required by law. To do this, we will provide you with the necessary training and you will not have to bear any additional cost. This functionality is available in the web application to generate digital certificates and also in the API to generate them from third-party applications.

Does the digital certificate issuance service have an API that I can consult?

Yes, the API is free and you can see the documentation at https://developers.uanataca.com/docs/ra

I have some doubts about the service. Who can I talk to for answers?

Call us on 935 272 290 or contact us via email at info@uanataca.com. Depending on your query, the commercial, technical or operations team will respond.

How does the service ensure the confidentiality of the documents to be signed?

Through the virtual machine we provide you with, which will be installed in your infrastructure, we guarantee the confidentiality of the information to be signed. The original documents are sent to the virtual machine, which then calculates the hash (a mathematical algorithm that transforms blocks of data into a new series of characters) and sends it to Uanataca’s service where the pure electronic signature is produced.

It is materially impossible to reconstruct the original document from the hash. Once the signed hash returns to the virtual machine, the electronically signed document is assembled there. The original information never leaves your infrastructure.
